Reviews for the new Cupra Tavascan are starting to come in. Here is a round up of what I've found so far:

Auto Express:
The Cupra Tavascan is a welcome improvement to the all-electric SUV formula we’ve already seen used elsewhere in the VW Group, sprinkled with Cupra’s distinctive style. The Tavascan is spacious, rides well, offers good refinement and is full of interesting details that make it feel unique to the Spanish brand. At last, Cupra has been able to properly spread its wings.

Auto Car:
The Tavascan is a visually and - in the right circumstances - dynamically interesting addition to the electric crossover class, which is fast moving and full of talent.

The bar is already a high one and, on this first acquaintance, the Tavascan feels like the kind of car you’ll need to spec carefully to show it at its very best.

Car Buyer:
The Cupra Tavascan is a welcome step forward for the brand, despite being just its second full EV. While it uses family underpinnings shared with other EVs from the Volkswagen Group, its design feels unique, whether you love or hate it. It’s not especially quick to drive, but it has nicely weighted controls and a good balance of driving feel and comfort. Its interior is well built and high quality, but we dislike its the touch-sensitive slider controls and the Tavascan is expected to be expensive.

Car Magazine:
For better or worse, the Tavascan essentially takes the Born formula and scales it up. It executes its brief well, providing grip, ample straight line speed and a degree of feedback that makes driving it fast relatively rewarding. But that if sounds stilted in some ways, that’s because, even in VZ mode, the Tavascan feels ‘competent’ rather than truly gripping.

The original Born suffered from the same lack of magic, and it’s only in sportier trim that it’s really come to life. Is the Tavascan good? Yes, but it’s some nicer plastics and a little more calibration away from being very good.
